Strategy Overhaul

Are you bogged down with the day-to-day and can't give any head space to where you're heading? Or maybe you've got a vague idea of strategy but need someone to put a framework together. That's where I come in. Get me on board for a strategy overhaul and you'll end up with a clear pathway, easy to action steps and a plan that works with the resources you have. I've done this for businesses with annual budgets from practically zero to multi millions. It's not about the money, it's what you do with the assets you have.

Your new marketing strategy step by step

Step 1 The kick off meeting

We talk about your business story, your challenges, your resources, your company ethos, your point of difference, what your business aims are and what's stopping you achieving them. Think of me in this step as a cross between Graeme Norton and Jeremy Paxman. We'll have a 'getting to know you' chat but with some interrogation thrown in, giving me the answers that will help me really understand your business.

Step 2 The audit

Status quo: I'll take a deep dive into the marketing activity you've done, the customers you have, what products/services you offer, who your competitors are. I'll review your marketing material and customer comms too plus brand and tone of voice docs if you have them. I'll analyse your customer and marketing data to understand where your customers are coming from and their value to you (depending on how often they buy, what their average order value is for example). All this information will give us a starting point to see what can be improved and to measure the impact of any changes.

Talking heads: More in-depth conversations with you and other people in the business, probably your customers too, to really understand your business and your brand difference. They'll be carried out either on-line or in-person and give us an opportunity to find those nuggets that will set you apart.

Basically I'll behave as though I'm your new in-house marketing lead getting to know everything about the business, identifying the weak spots in your marketing and finding where the biggest wins could be.

Step 3 The strategy - my analysis, feedback & recommendations

Between step 2 and 3 is where the marketing magic happens. I'll devise a marketing strategy that clearly identifies where the opportunities lie and how you can use marketing techniques to grow your business. It will be bespoke for your business and include a critique of where you're at now, detailing the strategies for success and a outline plan for the year ahead. It will support your business aims and take into account the resources you have available.

Step 4 The detailed campaign plan

If you need some help implementing your strategy, and you don't have the expertise in-house to come up with a detailed plan, you might need:

The Strategy Plus. Everything in Step 1 to 3 plus a detailed campaign schedule for the next six months, with 'How To' instructions for you or your in-house team to implement.

ADD ON A COPYWRITING PACKAGE

A pick and mix copywriting package to get you started. Choose from a selection including social posts, emails, web pages, blogs or flyer copy. One thing to note: the pick and mix writing package is only available to those having a Strategy Overhaul. A large part of copywriting is the research before pen hits paper. The time spent in getting to know the company and identifying the positioning and messaging of the brand. With a strategy project I've already gone through this process, so you can make savings on my copywriting input.
